New York is alive, yes. But it isn't the city that never sleeps. And it does have a big heart sometimes. Other times, not at all. It can be overwhelmingly beautiful and then horrifically ugly. It does not have shades of grey. It is a city of extremes. And in fashion, I both love it and hate it.
I'm saying goodbye to New York tomorrow. I am thrilled and, at the same time, feel an immense sense of loss. New York...what the hell just happened these past six months? My only certain answer is that I spent my time with incredible people.
I had good friends, two good housing situations, a cool job, and a lot of adventures. I was flat broke, too. So I did stick to the New York stereotype in one way.
Anyway, I'll just close this out with a huge 'thank you.' Thanks to all of you who showed me around the city, introduced me to new things, and brought me to amazing restaurants (seriously, I just had one of the best meals of my life this past Sunday- thanks, Luis!) Thank you for the incredible time I've had here. I can't explain my gratitude and hope that I can one day repay you. So come visit me in China.
